Volunteer, Freiwilligenarbeit bei Mundo Munay – Unterstützung in Peru

Join the family

We are constantly looking for creative, motivated people who want to make a positive and lasting contribution to the lives of our young photographers and women artisans. Through our volunteer program, you will have the opportunity to support one or both branches of Mundo Munay: FairMail, our photography school for teenagers from vulnerable backgrounds, and Munay, our brand of crochet home products handcrafted by local women. We offer year-round volunteer opportunities and can’t wait to welcome you on board!

Mutual growth

Volunteering abroad is a life-changing experience that benefits both the community and the volunteer. By joining Mundo Munay, you will make a meaningful contribution to the lives of teenagers and women in Huanchaco, while also gaining valuable cultural and professional experience. You will learn from the participants and they will learn from you. You will be immersed in Peruvian culture, strengthen your cross-cultural skills, and build lasting connections. Whether you are supporting a teenager in taking their first quality picture or working alongside an artisan to improve her craft, you will be part of a shared effort toward empowerment and growth.

Location

Our home, Casi Casa, is located in the hillside neighborhood of El Tablazo in Huanchaco, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Huanchaco is a coastal town 12 km north of Trujillo, known for its laid-back atmosphere and the century-old tradition of the caballitos de totora, reed fishing boats still used by local fishermen. Despite its size, Huanchaco offers plenty of opportunities for fun and exploration – from surfing its consistent waves to visiting nearby archaeological sites of the ancient Chimu culture. The town is also home to many NGOs and community projects, making it easy to connect with people from all over the world.
